🔍 When You Need This Replacement Part
Replace the thermometer if you notice: a fragmented column with breaks in the red liquid, a reading that doesn't reach 100°F when the incubator is running, a damaged glass bulb, or an illegible scale. Fragmented column is the most common problem after the mandatory switch from mercury to colored alcohol.
🛠️ First Try This
Fragmented column test: As indicated in the FIEM manual, place the thermometer in the freezer for a few minutes, then immediately immerse it in hot water. The thermal shock can recompact the alcohol. If the column remains fragmented after several attempts, replace it.

⚡ Safe Installation
There's no need to unplug the incubator. Insert the thermometer from the bottom up into clip 17A, rotating slightly—never from the front to avoid breakage. Position the bulb midway between the eggs as specified in the manual. Always check the integrity of the column before use.

Can I use an external digital thermometer?
