The 5-litre canister is useful when:

💧 How the semi-automatic system works
The FIEM semi-automatic humidity kit includes:
- 5L Canister (0083) – External Tank (this component)
- Channel + Red Float (97G) – Automatic water level regulator in the channel
- 10mm diameter tube – Tank-incubator connection
- Plastic bushing (BOCC.148662) – Tube passage in incubator hole
Communicating vessel operation:
- The tank is placed above or at the same level as the incubator
- The tube connects the tank to the internal trays/channels
- When the water evaporates, the float drops and opens the passage
- Water flows from the tank by gravity to the correct level
- The float rises and closes the passage

To install the semi-automatic kit, your CIP CIP must have:

Required components (if not already present):
- 5L Canister (0083) – €8.82

- 10mm diameter tube – €1.89/meter (you'll need about 1-1.5 meters)

Installation procedure:
- Make sure the incubator has a hose hole on the back
- Insert the plastic bushing into the hole
- Connect the hose: one end goes into the bushing up to the tray/channel
- Fit the float into the internal tank/channel
- Fill the tank with water (preferably distilled or demineralized)
- Connect the other end of the hose to the tank
- Place the tank above or at the same level as the incubator
- Open the cap of the tank to allow air to flow (otherwise a vacuum will be created)
- Check that the water flows properly and stops at the float level
💡 Advice from 45 years of experience: Use distilled water to avoid limescale deposits in the float.

Periodic cleaning (every 2-3 incubation cycles):
- Empty the tank completely
- Wash inside with hot water and neutral detergent
- Long-handled brush to reach the bottom
- Rinse thoroughly
- For disinfection: solution of water and bleach (10:1), then rinse very well
- Dry completely before refilling

- Do not place the tank too low: It must be above the incubator
- Don't close the cap tightly: Air needs to come in to let the water out
- Don't use water that is too hard: prefer distilled/demineralized water
- Don't forget to check the level: Check at least once a week
