CIP Fan Protective Net CIP 28 / CIP CIP 40 – The safety barrier that protects the ventilation system. This metal mesh prevents debris, feathers, and shell fragments from entering the fan, maintaining air circulation and preventing noise or blockages during incubation. It also prevents the operator from inadvertently coming into contact with the fan.

A breeder in Treviso contacted me about a strange noise from his CIP 28 incubator: "It sounds like something is scratching the fan blades." Upon opening the incubator, we found the protective mesh was deformed and touching the fan with each rotation. After replacing the mesh, the problem went away, and incubation continued without a hitch.

When is it needed? If you notice rubbing noises, the mesh probably needs replacing. Even after aggressive cleaning with corrosive products , or if the mesh appears visibly rusted, deformed, or has loosened meshes, it's time to replace it.

⚠️ ATTENTION WHEN ORDERING: There are two versions – always specify whether you need it for CIP CIP 28 or CIP CIP 40 when ordering. The dimensions are different and are not interchangeable.

📸 Not sure which model you have? Send us a photo of the incubator's identification plate (located on the back) on WhatsApp – we'll immediately confirm which network you need.

Installation: Quick and easy. Always unplug before opening. The net is attached with just a few screws; no electrician required.

💰 Price CIP CIP 28 and 40: €10.50 (VAT excluded, shipping excluded) – FIEM WAREHOUSE COMO

Minimum order €20: Consider adding other maintenance parts (fuse, thermometer, humidity trays) to complete your order and reach the minimum threshold.

📦 Logistics: Ships within 1 business day, delivery within 2-4 days. Warranty: 24 months for private individuals / 12 months for VAT number. FIEM, leader in artificial incubation since 1975.

🔍 When to Replace the Net – Typical Symptoms

The safety net should be replaced when one or more of the following symptoms occur:

  • Rubbing noises: You hear a metallic or scratching noise coming from the fan, a sign that the deformed mesh is touching the blades
  • Reduced ventilation: Air circulates less effectively, with possible temperature inhomogeneities in the incubator
  • Accumulated debris: Feathers, shell fragments or dust accumulate in the fan area because the mesh no longer provides adequate protection.
  • Oxidized or corroded mesh: After years of use or cleaning with aggressive products, the mesh appears rusty
  • Deformed or widened mesh: Accidental impacts or deterioration have compromised the original shape
  • After cleaning too vigorously: You have used metal brushes or overly aggressive chemicals that have damaged the mesh

⚠️ Before ordering: quick checks to do

Do you really need to replace your mesh? Before purchasing, check these things:

  1. Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet (safety first)
  2. Visually check the condition of the mesh: is it deformed? Rusted? Are the meshes widened?
  3. Check that the mesh does not touch the fan blades (if it does → it must be replaced)
  4. Check that there is no debris simply accumulated: a thorough cleaning may solve the problem without having to change the mesh
  5. Try to gently straighten any small deformations with your fingers (if the mesh is still intact)

📸 Not sure? Send us a photo of the installed mesh and the incubator model (label on the back) on WhatsApp : we'll help you determine if replacement is necessary and which mesh to order.

🔧 Safe installation

ATTENTION SAFETY

Before any intervention:

  • Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet
  • Never intervene with the incubator switched on or connected to the mains.
  • No part must be under tension during work
  • If you don't feel confident → the procedure is simple but if you have any doubts ask for help

Assembly procedure (valid for both 28/40 models):

  1. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet
  2. Access the fan compartment at the top of the incubator
  3. Unscrew the screws holding the old safety net (usually 2-4 screws)
  4. Gently remove the old mesh
  5. Position the new net, checking that the screw holes are correctly aligned.
  6. Screw the new mesh in without overtightening (to avoid deforming it)
  7. Make sure the mesh does not touch the fan blades at any point.
  8. Reconnect the plug and turn on the incubator to check that it is working correctly.

💡 Advice from 45 years of experience: When replacing the mesh, take the opportunity to thoroughly clean the fan and the inside of the upper compartment. Remove dust, feathers, and accumulated debris—this will improve ventilation efficiency.

❌ Common mistakes to avoid

  • Don't order the wrong net: CIP CIP 28 and CIP CIP 40 have different net sizes – always check your model
  • Do not overtighten the screws: You risk deforming the new mesh, ruining the replacement.
  • Do not force the net into the fixing points: If it does not fit easily, you probably ordered the wrong model
  • Don't forget to clean: Putting a new mesh on a dirty fan won't solve ventilation problems.

💬 Minimum Order: Transparency on Logistics Costs

For spare parts orders, a minimum amount of €20 (excluding VAT and shipping) is required.

This threshold serves to cover the operating costs that make the service possible:

  • Search and collection time – Each component must be located in the FIEM warehouse among thousands of references, visually checked for integrity and carefully extracted
  • Professional shockproof packaging – The wire mesh requires shaped cardboard to avoid deformation during transport
  • Administrative management – Invoice issuance, tax registration, inventory control, management system updates
  • Tracked courier organization – Pickup booking, tracking label generation, customer notification, and delivery problem management

💡 Tip: Consider adding other useful spare parts to complete your order and reach €20.

💡 Related spare parts to order together

If you are replacing your safety net, consider also ordering:

  • Fan Motor 37/A (€38.64) – The complete fan, if it shows signs of wear or noise
  • Metal Fan Brackets (€1.05) – Small but essential for keeping your fan aligned
  • °F Thermometer (€22.05) – For always precise analog temperature control
  • 2A Fuse (€0.42) – Always have this on hand for emergencies.
  • CIP 28 humidity trays (€1.30 each) – If they are worn or damaged
  • CIP 40 Humidity Channel (€6.50) – For the 40-egg model

🧼 Network maintenance and cleaning

How to clean your net properly (without damaging it):

  • Use warm water and neutral detergent (NO acidic or corrosive products)
  • Soft brush or non-abrasive sponge to remove dirt
  • Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reassembling
  • For deep disinfection: alcohol or Glutarsan (disinfectant tested by FIEM)
  • Avoid metal brushes that would damage the mesh

💡 Recommended cleaning frequency: After each complete incubation cycle, or at least every 2-3 cycles if you incubate frequently.

📦 Logistics and delivery times

  • Delivery: 2-4 working days (tracked courier)
  • Goods Departure: FIEM Warehouse in Como

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How do I know if I have a CIP CIP 28 or a CIP CIP 40?
A: Look at the nameplate on the back of the incubator, or count the capacity: 28 or 40 chicken eggs indicates a model number of 28 or 40, respectively. Not sure? Send us a photo on WhatsApp .

Q: Can I mount the 28 mesh on the 40 or vice versa?
A: No, the sizes are different and are not interchangeable. Always order the specific net for your model.

Q: The net is slightly bent, do I need to replace it?
A: It depends on the extent of the warping. If it's not touching the fan blades and the mesh is still intact, you can try gently straightening it. If it's touching the fan blades, it needs to be replaced.

Q: How long does a safety net last?
A: With proper use and regular cleaning with non-aggressive products, it can last for many years (even 5-10 years or more). Lifespan depends on frequency of use and maintenance.

Q: Can I use generic wire mesh instead of the original one?
A: Not recommended. The original FIEM mesh has dimensions, mesh pitch, and thickness specifically designed to ensure proper ventilation and protection. A generic mesh may not be compatible or compromise efficiency.

Plastic Cams for Fiem Smart, Easy, Cip, Inca,...

€1.93
Availability: 999 In Stock
SMART/EASY/CIP/INCA/COSMO Gear Motor Cams / Plastic Joint for Turning Motor – The connecting component between the electric motor and the egg turning grid. This plastic joint transmits the motor's rotary motion to the grid, allowing the eggs to turn automatically.

A customer from Udine called me: "The motor turns but the rack no longer moves, the eggs aren't turning." Upon checking over the phone, the plastic cam had cracked, and the motor was spinning without moving. After replacing the F117M cam, the turning function was back to normal.

When is it needed? If the motor turns but the grid doesn't rotate , or the turning is irregular, with jerks or jams. Even if you hear the motor working but see that the eggs don't move. The plastic cam is a component subject to mechanical wear and can break or wear out after years of continuous cycles.

Symptoms of a damaged cam: Noisy motor, grille that sticks mid-stroke, incomplete cam turn, visibly cracked cam

💰 Price: €1.58 each (excluding VAT, excluding shipping) – FIEM WAREHOUSE IN COMO – Original FIEM quality guaranteed by Padovan Avicoltura for your incubator.

Universal compatibility FIEM: SMART, EASY, CIP (CIP CIP 28, CIP CIP 40), INCA, COSMO – always check your model.

⚠️ Critical component: Without a functioning cam, the automatic turning does not work and you must manually turn the eggs 3-5 times a day (a delicate and risky operation).

Minimum order €20: Consider adding other spare parts (fuse €0.42, thermometer €22.05, trays €1.30).

📦 Logistics: Dispatch within 1 business day, delivery within 2-4 days. Warranty: 24 months for private individuals / 12 months for VAT number. FIEM since 1975.

✅ Original FIEM 🚚 24h Shipping 🇮🇹 Italian assistance ⭐ 45 years of experience

🖥️ The communicative face of your incubator.
When the controls no longer respond, the writing is faded or the opaque plastic hides the functions, there is no need to change the entire control unit: just give it a new face: Front Panel For Miniled, Miniled Advanced, Evo Plus + Graphic Membrane

Quick diagnosis: If you notice worn buttons, scratches that make the displays illegible, or membranes that don't respond to touch, the problem is almost always this front panel. People often think they need to replace the entire control unit, but the internal "brain" works perfectly: it's just the external interface that has failed.

Complete solution: original FIEM kit with rigid plastic front panel + graphic membrane with conductive contacts. Compatible with MiniLED, MiniLED Advanced, and Evo Plud on all FIEM incubators equipped with these control units.

Check before ordering:
✓ Display works but controls are unresponsive
✓ MiniLED or MiniLED Advanced or Evo Plus control unit
✓ intact rear hooks

⚠️ When to replace it: at the first signs of wear. Waiting risks setting errors that compromise your hatching.
