Wet Bulb Hygrometer Wick (1 meter) – Special replacement muslin wick for wet bulb hygrometers. Cotton material that wraps around the thermometer bulb and allows for precise measurement of relative humidity through evaporation. This consumable item requires frequent replacement to maintain accurate readings.
A customer wrote to me: "The wet-bulb hygrometer always read 100% even when the incubator was dry. I replaced the sock, which was encrusted with limescale and dirt, and now it works perfectly again. My mistake: I was using tap water instead of distilled water."
⚠️ CAUTION - CRITICAL MAINTENANCE: The muslin sock is the most important component for the proper functioning of the wet bulb hygrometer. It MUST be replaced frequently and ALWAYS kept moist with distilled water. A dirty, dry, or mineral-encrusted sock will cause completely incorrect readings.
When to replace: With each new batch of eggs, when the sock appears dirty/yellowish, if there are white scale deposits, when the readings are unstable or stuck at 100%, or if the sock no longer absorbs water well. ALWAYS use distilled or demineralized water to avoid mineral deposits.
What's included: 1 meter of cotton muslin wick, enough for several refills. Cut to the length needed to completely wrap the thermometer bulb.
Basic rules: The sock must always be kept moist, use only distilled water, tighten it well around the bulb, make sure it sits properly in the water tank.
