⚙️ How does the protection fuse work?
A fuse is a safety component that automatically interrupts the power supply when the current exceeds 2 amps. Its function is to protect the control unit, the electronic circuit board, and all the expensive components from electrical overloads, sudden short circuits, or power surges. The fuse contains a calibrated metal filament that melts (burns) when excessive current flows through it, instantly interrupting the circuit before the damage spreads to the electronic components.

Replace the fuse if you notice:
- ✓ Incubator completely off: black display, no LEDs on, no sound
- ✓ Internal filament visibly broken: looking against the light you can see the broken thread
- ✓ Blackened or burned fuse: obvious signs of overheating on the fuse body
⚠️ Why it happens and what you risk
Fuses blow mainly due to: overload caused by a faulty component (seized egg turning motor, shorted resistor), power surges from the electrical network (lightning, distributor problems), or internal short circuits in the wiring or connectors. If the fuse continues to blow after replacing it, DO NOT persist: there is a more serious fault that must be identified by a technician to avoid damaging the circuit board (repair cost €150-300). Never use fuses with a higher amperage (3A, 5A) because they will not adequately protect the components.

- Unplug the incubator from the power supply
Wait at least 5 minutes for the internal capacitors to fully discharge. NEVER work with the incubator connected to the mains. - Locate and remove the blown fuse
The fuse is usually located in the fuse holder on the back or side of the incubator. Some fuse holders open by twisting the cap, while others require unscrewing the cover with a screwdriver. Remove the blown fuse and visually check that the wire is broken. - Install the new fuse and check its operation.
Insert the new 2A fuse in the same position, observing any polarity if indicated. Replace the fuse holder. Reconnect the power and turn on the incubator. If the fuse immediately blows again, there is an internal fault: unplug it and contact support.
