The COSMO transparent door is the front window of the incubator that allows you to constantly monitor the condition of the eggs, check the thermometer and check the water level in the trays, all without opening the machine.
Every time you open the incubator, you lose heat and humidity that the machine then has to recover. During hatching, even a few minutes of openness can compromise the chicks. The transparent door eliminates this problem: you can look, check, and close it again with your eyes.
The original FIEM door is made of high-quality transparent plastic, resistant to constant heat and high humidity. It maintains its transparency over time and ensures a hermetic seal thanks to its contoured profile.

Replace the COSMO door if you notice:
The door deteriorates mainly due to prolonged exposure to heat and humidity (after 5-8 years of use), the use of aggressive detergents that dull the plastic, or accidental scratches when cleaning with abrasive sponges.
An opaque or damaged door forces you to open the incubator every time you want to check. Each opening disperses heat (the temperature can drop by 2-3°C) and humidity (it can drop by 10-15%). During hatching, these fluctuations can be fatal for the chicks that are breaking through their shells.

The COSMO base mesh is the perforated surface on which the eggs rest. It allows warm air and humidity to rise from the trays below, ensuring even distribution throughout the incubation chamber.
Quick diagnosis: rusty netting, broken or loosened meshes, bent or deformed netting, eggs that do not sit securely.
Solution: Original FIEM expanded mesh base for COSMO, COSMO EVO and COSMO ML incubators.
📌 Real case: A customer in Rovigo with a COSMO EVO had a rusty base net after 7 years. The eggs were no longer stable, and some had broken during the hatching process. The net was replaced, no broken eggs, and hatching was normal again.
⚠️ When to replace it: If the mesh is rusty, warped, or has broken links, the eggs will no longer sit securely and may be damaged during turning. It's best to replace it immediately.
