⚙️ How does the COSMO Control Panel Front Cover work?

The front cover is the control panel's front bezel, located on the upper part of the COSMO chassis. It covers and protects the area where the main power switch (0/I) and the interior light switch are located.

Its function is twofold: aesthetic and protective. On the one hand, it gives the control panel a neat and professional look, hiding the internal wiring. On the other, it protects the switches and electrical connections from dust, humidity, and accidental impacts.

The original FIEM cover is made of resistant ABS plastic, with shaped openings for the switches and pressure joints that fix it securely to the body without the need for screws.

🔍 When to replace this part

Replace the COSMO front cover if you notice:

  • ✓ Broken or cracked lid: visible cracks on the faceplate, especially near the joints.

⚠️ Important note: The front cover (FRONT CAP) covers the switch area. It is different from the rear cover (POS. CAP), which covers the back of the control panel. Check which one you need before ordering.

  1. Remove the old cover
    Turn off the incubator. If the lid is still partially attached, gently pry it open with your fingers to release the catches. Do not use a screwdriver to avoid scratching the body.
  2. Install the new cover
    Place the new cover, aligning the openings with the switches. Press firmly on the edges until you hear the snaps. Make sure it is secure.

  • ✓ Cleaning: Use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid direct jets of water on the control panel.
  • ✓ Moving: When moving the incubator, be careful not to hit the control panel area.
  • ✓ Maintenance: If you need to access internal components, remove the cover gently without forcing it.

Female IEC Panel Socket for FIEM Ultrasonic Humidifiers – The power connector for the Limpia automatic humidifier. This standard IEC socket provides a secure electrical connection between the incubator and the ultrasonic humidifier.

A customer from Rovigo called me: "The Limpia humidifier is constantly turning on and off, the humidity fluctuates, and the pheasant eggs are drying out." The IEC socket on the panel had oxidized contacts and was making poor contact. Simply moving the cable would shut off the humidifier. I replaced the socket, and it's been working perfectly for 18 months.

When is it needed? If the humidifier doesn't turn on even when plugged in , it turns on and off intermittently, or you see sparks when you plug it in. If the socket has burnt plastic or oxidized contacts, it should be replaced immediately to avoid a fire risk.

What is an IEC socket? It's an international standard (type C14 female)—the same connector found on PCs, monitors, and professional appliances. It guarantees safe connections up to 250V and 10A.
