⚙️ How the COSMO Fund works
The COSMO base is the incubator's lower body, made of high-strength ABS plastic. It's the "floor" of the machine: it contains the modular humidification trays, houses the bottom mesh where the eggs rest, and supports the entire upper structure.
The integrated trays allow for natural surface humidification: the water evaporates and maintains the right humidity level inside the incubation chamber. The external filling system makes it easy to top up the water without opening the machine.
The quality of the ABS material is crucial: it can withstand constant heat (37-38°C for weeks), high humidity, and repeated washing with disinfectants. A poor-quality base will warp, crack, and lose its watertightness.

🔍 When to replace this part
Replace COSMO primer if you notice:
- ✓ Visible cracks: Even small cracks in the plastic cause water leaks and moisture loss.
- ✓ Water leaks: You find water under the incubator or the trays don't stay level.
- ✓ Deformations: the body is no longer flat, it has become curved or bent due to the heat.
- ✓ Broken fastenings: The points where the upper body attaches are broken or chipped.
⚠️ Why it happens and what you risk
The bottom gets damaged for three main reasons: natural wear after years of intensive use (7-10 years), prolonged exposure to heat and humidity which weakens the plastic, or accidental knocks and falls during moving or cleaning.
A cracked or warped bottom causes serious problems: water leaks from the trays, humidity levels plummet, and the eggs dry out. People often think it's a humidity or ventilation problem, but simply checking the bottom reveals an invisible crack. A hatch with too low humidity means chicks that fail to crack their shells or are born weak.

⚠️ Important note: This base is specific to the COSMO series. It is NOT compatible with SMART, INCA, CIP CIP, or MG which have completely different bodies.
🔧 Assembly in 5 simple steps

- Turn off and unplug the incubator
Unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet. Empty the water tanks completely.
- Remove all internal components
Remove the egg turning rack, inserts, bottom mesh and any other accessories.
- Separate the upper body
Unscrew or unhook the hooks (GACOS) holding the two valves together. Gently lift the top.
- Replace the bottom
Remove the old base and install the new one. Make sure it's perfectly level.
- Reassemble everything and final test
Replace the top cover, secure the hooks, and reassemble the internal components. Fill the trays and check for leaks after 1 hour.
🛡️ How to make it last longer
- ✓ After each cycle: empty and clean the trays, wash the bottom with a gentle disinfectant (e.g. Glutarsan).
- ✓ Every year: visually check for microcracks, especially in the corners and attachment points.
- ✓ When moving: always empty the trays before moving the machine, lift from the bottom without levering.
- ⚠️ DON'T: Do not use pure bleach, do not expose to direct heat sources, do not place weights on the empty shell.
