The fuse holder is the component that holds the fuse in place and ensures electrical contact between the power supply and the circuit board. Its function is twofold: to mechanically retain the fuse, preventing it from slipping due to vibration, and to ensure optimal electrical conduction through nickel-plated brass contacts that resist oxidation. With prolonged use, the contacts can oxidize, loosen, or break, causing intermittent malfunctions that are difficult to diagnose.
Replace the fuse holder if you notice:
Fuse holder deterioration is mainly caused by oxidation of the contacts due to ambient humidity, overheating from high currents or loose contacts that generate electrical resistance, and repeated mechanical vibrations that progressively loosen the contacts. If you continue to use a damaged fuse holder, you risk sudden malfunctions during incubation, localized overheating that can damage the surrounding electronic board, or complete loss of power during critical moments of hatching.
