The cable gland is the device that allows electrical cables to pass safely through the incubator panel while maintaining a watertight seal. Its function is twofold: it mechanically blocks the cable, preventing accidental stress on the internal connections, and it ensures IP65 protection against water and dust infiltration through the rubber gasket. The reinforced nylon material resists temperatures, humidity, and mechanical stress, ensuring long-lasting durability.
Replace the cable gland if you notice:
Cable gland deterioration is caused by prolonged exposure to humidity, which hardens the rubber gasket; repeated mechanical stress on the cable, which loosens the seal; or temperature changes, which weaken the plastic material. If you continue to use a damaged cable gland, you risk water infiltration, which causes short circuits on the circuit board; dust ingress, which fouls the electrical contacts; or mechanical stress on the cables, which can separate the internal connections and cause sudden malfunctions.
