The clip should be replaced when: the thermometer doesn't stay in place, moves during the egg turning cycle, falls inside the incubator, has visible cracks or breaks in the ABS plastic, or requires tape or other means to hold the thermometer in place. If you notice any of these problems, it's time to replace the clip to ensure reliable readings.
Make sure you're inserting the thermometer correctly, as indicated in the FIEM manual: always insert it from the bottom up with a slight rotation, never from the front. If the problem persists even when inserted correctly, the clip actually needs to be replaced.

There's no need to unplug the incubator for this operation. Remove the old clip if present and damaged. Place the new 17A clip in its place. Insert the thermometer following the instructions in the manual: from bottom to top with a gentle rotation, never force it from the front. Make sure the thermometer is stable and positioned with the bulb in the center of the eggs as indicated in the manual.

COSMO internal plugs are small plastic inserts that seal the fixing holes and openings in the bottom shell. They prevent heat and humidity loss, maintaining a stable incubation environment.
